Canna Intend on Napoli
Although Juande Ramos has publicly stated that he would like to see Fabio Cannavaro’s contract extended, there appears to have been no real progress. The ripples that were caused at the Santiago Bernabeu are now beginning to turn into waves, as the wearer of the Azzurri armband has spoken of his intent to join his hometown club.
Canna has spoken to Il Mattino saying that he does not want his potential move to turn into a sop opera, and went on to say that he would welcome a move to Napoli.
The defender had hinted earlier that he would consider a switch only if the Partenopei reach the stars and qualify for the Champions League. However, he appears to have made some concessions, as he said that the squad is still young and developing, and one cannot expect them to qualify for the biggest club competition in Europe just yet.
If the 35-year-old switches the white shirt for a blue one, it will give the young Italian squad a much needed experience boost.
